Belts should last longer then 30k and 2 1/2 yrs.Why would this belt be damaged already.Should not my warranty cover that?l do not think that falls under normal maintenance.Also after my car runs for a little while with the A/C blowing there is a noticeable vibration that is rough for 30 sec and then tapers off for another 30 sec and it just repeats that cycle.The tech had no idea why it was doing that.The car is an 06 Aerio.My bosses sister just had her 04 Aerio in the shop for a new A/C clutch.Do these Aerios have a lot of A/C issues?Also what about that serpentine belt it appears to look good I've had it checked before.l live in FL could this climate dry it out could the humidity have an affect on the belt?If it looks good then do you think a dressing is all the belt needs?

Check the belt for wear, cracks and any shiny spots. If the belt is fine and wearing out too fast, check the tension wheel. It could be worn, wobbly or some other alignment problem When these go, that is it, and it is about a $300 repair bill. Have a mechanic check for any parts like wheels or pumps that may be loose or out of alignment.

1. Never EVER treat a belt with ''belt dressing that is the one sure way to ruin the belt.
2. You fail to mention what is wrong with the belt? Belts r not covered under warranty, they r maintenance. Why? They r exposed to the elements & can get contaminated causing squeak.squeal, or chirping.
3. Aerio A/C issues r not any greater than any other car.
4. Rpm issues: Get ur 30k done, consisting of tune-up, clean injectors, clean throttle, & coolant flush & several other little things.
