Quality SUZUKI,on 35 sold me a 2006Grand VITARA,l learn, after two year of serious mechanical problems, the vehicle has a 2005 engine,D.O.T.and the attorney general say this is a deceptive trade pratice act,if the truck would nt of threw a rod we would of never known, about the engine.the engine light kept coming on,after two months purchased of this vehicle it wouldnt start,at time we notice black smoke came out of the tail pipe, this truck was sold to me with dent and hail damage in which l didnt know you had to inspect a new vehicle,Cavender Suzuki bought to my attention that he live next door to this dealership and remmber the night that it hail, and gave it to me in writing, the dealership today has never taken care of this and other problems, but told me to my face they was tried of this vehicle, gave me a bottle of paint and told me to do it yourself,l got promises, but no services,if anyone share any of these same problems please let me know.

My sisters Vitara had to have the head completely rebuilt. It had only 80K miles on it at the time. What made it even more difficult, there r few mecahnics trained on Suzuki maintenece & the parts were hard to get unless u like paying through the nose at the dealer. It took 3 weeks to fix her car. It all started when the timing chain simply wore out. Go figure. If it were a Mazda, Toyota, or Honda, that never would have happened. l feel that Suzuki is less then satisfactory & l question their quality.

Suzuki Corp stands behind their vehicles, call the 1800 number for customer service( in your owners manual ) if not already done. If you have solid evidence of what you say your issue will be resolved. As far as the dealer itself goes.well they are all franchises and all you can do is sue them.

l currently own a 2007 grand vitara. l am also a certified suzuki sales consultant. As far as l am concerned there r no reported probles or bulletins that specify engine problems or any recalls. How ever u have a 200 5 engine. There is where the problem is. Suzuki had several issues with this particular engine year. l reccomend to first find out what rights do u have as far as purchasing a vehicle certain year & finding a different year engine. There is a big issue here. It sounds like the dealer that sold u that 2006 vitara needs a lesson. Good luck to you.
