Trying to figure out which E mark is the right one as It shows 2, one near the bolt of the sprocket and one near the teeth of the sprocket which has an E and a (.) Dot next to it..

l think it is the e with a dot but its since a mistake can be deadly, l suggest visiting the dealer.

The book is rather vague also so l will offer this suggestion.
Pull the valve cover and spark plugs, rotate crank till piston is nearing TDC but not not all the way to top. Now rotate cam so that both #1 cylinder valves are closed. That puts the cam and the piston on compression stroke which should have the alignment marks rather close, at least close enough to tell which mark to use.
