I am referring to the Grand Vitara compared to the Rav4, for a fraction of the price.

Get the rav4 V6 the grand vitara has poor quality

Suzuki is crap. They are poorly made and lose value quickly.

Suzuki is a Japanese brand & like the majority of Japanese owned & run companies they build a quality product. They never had the interference of an American car company to bring them down like Mitsubishi/Chrysler. The Grand Vitara is a good SUV & will last a long time if u take car of it, probably as long as any Toyota. Check out the reviews on http://edmunds.com & see for yourself. l am not sure about the fraction of the price thing, though a top of the line Rav4 does cost several thousand dollars more.because it is better (a very powerful V6 & 3rd row with towing package). You should also consider the Honda CRV, Hyundai Tucsan & Ford Freestyle Hybrid.

You can not go wrong with Toyota, but my friend has a Chevy Tracker (made by Suzuki) and he does not have any problems with it. Suzuki has made a profit for several years so they have to be doing something right.

You could try test driving a new Grand Vitara and a used Rav 4 that is around the same price and decide which you like better.
