l just bought a new 2007 Suzuki GZ250 and have had an issue with the fuel system.When the dealership delivered it to my house, l failed to notice until the next day that they had left the fuel valve in the ''Prime'' position.The bike runs a little fast when it idles and when l try to ride with the valve in the ''on'' position it basically stalls out completely after 500-100 ft.

Anybody got any ideas?Is this just because it is a new bike or do l have a bigger problem?Thanks.

Check the tank, If she is fuel. Take it to the dealer.

The ''on'' position is - or should be - vacuum controlled. When the engine is running ''vacuum'' from the intake is supposed to hold open the fuel tap. when u shut off the engine - or it dies for any reason the tap is closed by a spring. Check to make sure the vacuum hose is connected & not crimped or kinked. If hose is ok fuel tap may be stuck - or just defective. Riding it on ''prime'' is ok - just turn it to the ''ON'' position when u stop the bike (this will keep fuel from flooding). Since it is a new bike u should put it on ''prime'' & ride it back to the dealer & ask them to fix it - under warranty.
