l purchased a brand new 2007 Suzuki Grand Vitara.They radio and the window sticker claim ''XM Ready''.Since it does not do anything and l can not get the code to activate service, l called the dealer back.First they (dealer and Suzuki) claimed it should work.Now they are saying l need to purchase an adaptor at the cost of $500 (+/-) PLUS active and pay for service.If it is XM Ready, should not it be ready to go with service activation?

XM is a waste of money. You cannot listen to anything on XM that you cant hear locally.

xm ready could mean its ready to be activate or its already. but you should ask questions before you buy. thumb of rule.
talk to main boss or personal, most times they will work with you and sometimes not.

l had the same thing happen to me. The said the unit/reciever/whatever costs $500 and l do not know how much to install. l figure l might as well go to Best Buy and pick up one for cheaper.. l was pretty pissed. Also, do not bother looking up the resail value if you do not want to get depressed.

Is ur radio factory or aftermarket(Pioneer, Alpine, Sony). XM ready means it needs a XM tuner. It does not have the XM tuner built in. Do not pay the 500 bucks. Now the dealer is trying to f*** you.

One can buy a XM equipped radio with the tuner built in for under 300 bucks.
Do more research. Contact XM, talk to a tech. They might be able to tell u what aftermarket tuner will work with the Suzuki factory radio. Aftermarket tuners cost no more than 150 bucks.
