Basically, it is pretty sound, but needs touching up in a few places, plus a couple of areas need filling and obvious re-spraying.I've checked all the obvious places, Halfords etc., and even the Suzuki dealerships .... no luck.Anyone got any bright ideas ?

Your only way to get a guaranteed match is a dealership. If you tried one and it did not work, try a few more, or visit their website. Only Suzuki is going to have the exact match for something that old. Body shops may have something close, but the choice is yours

A good body shop can match any color. your problem will be that it is impossible to match 20 year old paint. It wo not cost that much more to go ahead and paint the whole thing. and with the paint code them can mix up the original color and spray on a nice fresh coat and have that ole jeep looking like new again

As a car gets older the colour fades and changes due to enviromental effects such as the sun, rain etc.

To get a paint match the best thing would be chip of a piece of paint and take it to a specialist paint mixer, there are companies who mix car paints.

It is a bit expensive, but if you are restoring a car, this would give you a better match

You will need a new paint job. The base cote and clear cot has faded. 20 years of being out side will fade the paint. If you do find a touch up paint for your car it will be much darker that the paint that is already on your car. Try going to duplicolour is web site or try going to a body shop they car try to mach the colour up to your car just give them the paint cod and they will try to mach the colour.

Remove your gas door (or other small piece of bodywork), and bring it into an autobody supply shop for color matching. This will get you new paint that matches your old faded paint.

If you're interested in a proper restoration, I'd get them to use the factory paint code to get paint that would match a new factory finish. Use this paint to respray the whole vehicle.
