l also have a Samurai & go wheeling as often as possible. You do not mention where u r located but a rule of thumb is to make darn sure it is legal to be where u want to wheel.
There r several states that have absolutely nowhere to legally go so one has to get permission before going anywhere. l live in southern Ohio & l have to drive at least 70 miles to get anywhere that is any fun at all.
The important thing is to be safe, have a good time & leave the alcohol at home.
Hope this helps. If u want to see a picture of my truck wheeling, go to roadless gear.com & find the section under Samurai parts called roadless folk. l am at the top left, the big yellow truck. If l can help any more contact me at that e- mail address.
Good luck.

l second the last answer. As a previous owner of a Samurai l can tell you that if you ever get rid of it, you will regret it. Mine was a stock 1987 JX conv and it was one of the best vehicles I've ever owned. l wish l had raised it and did a bunch of other stuff to it. They are truly keepers.
